Animation Storytelling Workshop: Pitching Your Animation Project in the Global Market

EKOME-animation storytelling workshop

EKOME, in collaboration with the American Film Showcase (AFS) and the U.S. Mission to Greece,  under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Governance, and the Ministry of Culture and Sports will organize an intensive 4-day workshop for animation professionals from Greece by the title: “Animation Storytelling Workshop: Pitching Your Animation in the Global Market”.

The program will focus on story and pitch development and offer Greek animators and animated storytellers an opportunity to develop a professional project pitch with the assistance of top U.S. industry professionals. The goal is for participants to be effectively empowered and supported in developing and promoting their animation projects across international audiences and markets.

Workshop duration and format

The workshop will be held in Athens, September 26-29, 2022.

10 animation projects will be selected to participate, with up to 3 persons per project.

The teams will spend four days working intensively on story and pitch development for their projects (series/long-form/feature-length/short/animated games).  The main deliverable for each team should be a project pitch targeting the international market.  The topics covered will include development, marketing, sales, pitching techniques, and more.  The teams will be requested to make a final pitch presentation to an audience of local professionals and stakeholders.

Who can apply?

We welcome candidates from around Greece who are developing or implementing projects in the Greek animation, gaming, or VX industries. Each application should focus on one project and may include 1-3 people per project.  The team can consist of screenwriters, directors, producers, and/or artists.
