EKOME at the 85th Thessaloniki International Fair

EKOME participated in the 85th Thessaloniki International Fair, showcasing its work at Pavilion 12, as a legal body supervised by the Ministry of Digital Governance, and at Pavilion 17 e-Gaming, making contacts with representatives of institutions, productive bodies, and representatives of the academic community and local government, in a series of synergies that support EKOME’s mission to support the audiovisual sector in Greece.

EKOME at gov.gr (Pavilion 12)

In the fully digitized environment of the gov.gr of the Ministry of Digital Governance, EKOME informed the public about the program for attracting investments in audiovisual production in Greece through the operation of the financial incentives Cash Rebate 40%, Tax Relief 30% and the services offered by the National Film Offices network, as well as the progress of the implementation of the educational programs and the national audiovisual archive repository.

 

EKOME at Gameathlon (Pavilion 17)

In the festive atmosphere of Gameathlon, which was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Digital Governance, EKOME presented the results of the International Student Competition for the Creation of Board and Narrative Digital Games with reference to the theme “History” titled “The Lesson made….game”, for the school year 2020-2021. In the exhibition that was organized, the works of the students of the primary and secondary schools that participated in the competition were showcased, attracting audiences of all ages.

Agreement between EKOME and DEPTHE

In a festive atmosphere, the ceremony for the signing of a programmatic contract for the cooperation of EKOME with the Municipal Company for Information, Entertainment and Communication (DEPTHE- TV 100-FM 100) took place on September 12 at the premises of TIF, with the aim of digitizing the audiovisual archive of DEPTHE (1988-2021). The President and CEO of EKOME, Panos Kouanis, during the signing ceremony with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of DEPTHE, Minas Samantzidis, underlined the firm commitment of EKOME to the preservation of our audiovisual heritage with emphasis on the work of protecting and highlighting the modern history of the country and collections such as that of TV100/FM100.

Cooperation between EKOME and AUTH

Focusing on the professional training and evolution of the students of the Film Department of the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the President and CEO of EKOME, Panos Kouanis, and the President of the Film Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Eleftheria Thanouli, signed, on September 13, a five-year memorandum of cooperation, concerning the educational programs of students’ training and the cooperation with the Laboratory for the Study of Greek Cinema and Television for the promotion of the wealth of Greek cinema and television in Greece and abroad.

During Thessaloniki International Fair, EKOME executives made numerous contacts with representatives of the diplomatic, business, and educational scene, focusing on the promotion of Thessaloniki, and Northern Greece as a whole, as a pole of attraction major audiovisual works production. Moreover, the results of the constant cooperation of EKOME with the Film Offices of the Region of Central Macedonia and the Municipality of Thessaloniki are reflected in the ever-increasing demand that the region receives for the shooting of big-scale productions.

Evaluating the overall experience of the 85th TIF, the President and CEO of EKOME, Panos Kouanis said: “The main goal of EKOME to create an audiovisual industry in the country is crystallized in the synergies we develop with Northern Greece and especially Thessaloniki and Central Macedonia, in the context of creating a single ecosystem that operates with the aim of attracting foreign direct investment, the development of Greek entrepreneurship, education and the strengthening of employment in the audiovisual sector in the wider region.”
