EKOME is excited to support Thessaloniki International Film Festival (2-12 November 2023) for another consecutive year and proudly sees the projects that have been included in the cash rebate investment incentive being screened in major events, in theaters and on platforms.

The President and CEO of EKOME, Leonidas Christopoulos, referring to the 64th Festival, placed particular emphasis on its developmental dimension, underlining the role played by the organization in the networking of audiovisual industry professionals.

On Sunday, November 5 at 12.00 at the Museum of Photography, Leonidas Christopoulos will participate as a speaker in the panel “How the Greek audiovisual ecosystem supports creativity”, as part of the new section of the Market “AGORA Talks Series”, which focuses on the creator and is dedicated to series. 

This year’s AGORA Series also presents episodes from the series “Milky Way” by Cannes winner director Vasilis Kekatos and “17 Threads” by director Sotiris Tsafoulias, which have been supported by the cash rebate incentive managed by EKOME.

A total of six out of seven Greek films competing for distinctions in the 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival have been realized with the support of the Greek cash rebate.

Participating films in the International Competition Section are: “The Last Taxi Driver” by Stergios Paschos produced by Filmiki Productions, “Animał” by Sofia Exarchou produced by Homemade Films and “Medium” by Christina Ioakimidi produced by Ekso Productions & Red Carpet Films.

In the Parallel Competition section Meet the Neighbors participates the film “Murderess” by Eva Nathena produced by Tanweer.

In the Film Forward Competition participates the film “Small Things That Went Wrong” by Haris Vafiadis produced by Out Of The Box Films.

In the new Smart 7 competition section, in which seven European festivals join forces highlighting national cinematography, the film “Black Stone” by Spyros Jacovides produced by Steficon participates.

The following films are also presented for the first time: “Dolls of Dresden” by Alexis Tsafos produced by 2K Entertainment, “Minor” by Konstantinos Koutsoliotas produced by Inkas Film Productions, “Polydroso” by Alexandros Voulgaris produced by Filmiki Productions, “Nea Epirus” by Pantelis Pagoulatos produced by Bad Crowd, “Excelixi” by Pericles Choursoglou produced by SOUL Productions and “Carmen’s Summer” by Zacharias Mavroidis produced by Atalanti.

In the framework of the program Crossing Borders, the films “The Rhapsode” by Nikolai Hamel produced by Filmiki Productions and “Voices in Deep” by Jason Raftopoulos produced by Exile Entertainment & Small Village Films are screened.

The official program of the 64th Festival also included award-winning short films of the Drama International Short Film Festival, an institution with which EKOME has a strategic partnership. In this section, the films “Unorthodox” by Konstantinos Antonopoulos produced by Either/Or Productions and “Midnight Skin” by Manolis Mavris produced by Avion Films are screened.

As in previous years, EKOME executives will be present during the Festival at the organization’s stand  in Warehouse C, in order to inform professionals about the financial tools managed by EKOME (cash rebate 40%, tax relief 30%) and the initiatives it undertakes that aim to promote the domestic audiovisual sector as well as attracting audiovisual works in Greece.
