Tax relief incentive for audiovisual productions kicks off!

As part of the further aid for the production of audiovisual works in Greece, the implementation of the 30% tax relief incentive begins. The Ministry of Digital Governance aims to promote Greece as an attractive and safe destination for audiovisual projects.

The incentive operates under the provisions of Article 71E of Law 4172/2013 as amended by the provisions of Article 12 of Law 4704/2020, in accordance with the recent interpretative circular issued by the Independent Authority of Public Revenue (AADE), and is implemented through the National Centre of Audiovisual Media and Communication (EKOME).

Tax relief can be combined with the 40% cash rebate incentive, through which more than 100 domestic and international audiovisual works have already been financed in the past two years. It is worth noting that through the cash rebate program, more than EUR 92 million have been invested in Greece. This provides more than 23,000 jobs for the filming of audiovisual works in more than 100 locations.
