“Apples” open Orizzonti section of Venice Film Festival

The first feature film of Christos Nikou, “Apples”, produced by Boo Productions, which was realised with the support of cash rebate programme by EKOME, had its world premiere at the Orizzonti (Horizons) section of the 77th Venice International Film Festival. It is the first Greek film ever to open one of the two main sections of the Festival, which is being held from 2 to 12 of September with increased protective measures against COVID-19 pandemic.

“Apples”, starring Aris Servetalis and Sofia Georgovasili, is a co-production of Greece (Boo Productions), Poland (Lava Films, Musou Music Group) and Slovenia (Perfo Production) with the support of EKOME, Greek Film Centre, Polish Film Institute, Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation-ERT and Creative Europe Media programme. Alpha Violet is handling world sales, while in Greece it will be distributed by Feelgood Entertainment in November 2020.

“Apples” was supported by the cash rebate programme of EKOME and was filmed in 2018, in various locations in Attica, Greece.
