EKOME launches new partnership with Takorama

It is with great pleasure that EKOME collaborated once more this year with Takorama International Film Festival 2021, the international online short film animation festival addressed to students, teachers, parents, and children, under the auspices of UNESCO. The films included in Takorama were selected at the world’s largest Annecy International Animation Film Festival, a festival in which EKOME has been participating the last few years, supporting the Greek delegation.

This year EKOME translated into Greek the worksheets for the 15 animated films, which are freely accessible and ad-free for use in an educational context. The films are classified into five age categories (for children from 3 to 18 years old) and are accompanied by worksheets with brief information on the films and questions about their content and the technical dimension. They also offer targeted educational activities and additional material with references to works of literature, visual arts, and feature films.

From 1st March to 25th June 2021, children together with their parents and/or teachers had the opportunity to discover a poetic and original visual universe that promotes the values of solidarity, respect, and sustainable development. Diversity, acceptance, friendship, loneliness, love, desire, war, harassment, domestic violence, relationship with animals and the environment were some of the themes of the imaginative animations.

340,418 people from 115 countries participated in this year’s Festival! Of these 326,165 were children, aged 3 to 18, most of whom watched the films with their teachers, took part in the educational activities, and voted for their favorite film!

Greece is among the top 10 countries worldwide with the highest participation in the Festival – in total, 2,049 people took part! EKOME, a unique partner of Takorama in Greece, disseminated this activity to the educational community and promoted the Festival via its social media.

The festival is organised by the French NGO “Films Pour Enfants“, a member of the MIL Alliance Med Group of the UNESCO Alliance, coordinated by EKOME.
