The great impact of Drama International Short Film Festival outlines the future of the Greek short film, as the biggest names in the international audiovisual industry choose Drama as a starting point to design, with new and acclaimed creators and directors, the new proposals that will affect the production of short films.

EKOME is once again a proud sponsor of the Drama Festival, proving in practice its continuous support to the Greek short film filmmakers while strengthening its cooperation with the Festival, which takes place this year from 5 to 11 September.

Welcoming the collaboration with the Festival, President and CEO of EKOME, Panos Kouanis, stressed that “EKOME approaches the future with optimism, a future that promises more Greek projects and cinema expression, uniting audiences and creators through the emblematic expression of the short film”.

With the active presence of its executives at the Festival, EKOME emphasizes on the synergies, promotion and networking of the Greek film community within and outside the country and on the promotion of Greece’s role in the international audiovisual map. In the industry sessions of the Festival, on September 9, at 2 p.m., at the open-air cinema Alexandros, Vasiliki Diagoumas, Head of Communication and International Relations, participates in the industry panel on the role and future of Greek short films, presenting the investment incentives of EKOME and the opportunities offered by Greece for shooting audiovisual productions.

At the same time, within the framework of DISFF active Educational Program, which extends throughout the year, the Pitching Lab and Pitching Forum for young filmmakers is being held, with the participation of EKOME. At the same time, the Festival begins its 45th edition, with an eye on the operation of the long-awaited Film School in Drama by the Hellenic Open University.

As part of the festival’s screenings, 148 films from more than 33 countries are presented this year in all sections, while its rich program includes various events, ranging from masterclasses delivered by Yannis Economides, to discussions with experts, Cinematherapy, and the tribute dedicated to renowned director Pawel Pawlikowski and his documentaries.
